Congratulations to Captain Glen Perron and His Manville Pizza Team, including MVP of the playoffs Mike Dussualt, Jr. Returning from Orlando, FL’s theme park, Disney World, earlier this week, we caught up with Mike and he told us, “It’s just been a crazy week. a wirlwind.” Mike completed the playoffs allowing only two goals in three games for a 0.67 goals allowed per game. “I guess you could say I was an animal in net, but I prefer to say it was a team effort. Captain Perron, who built this team from the ground up, deserves alot of credit for putting This Championship Team together…Kudos to him!”
The man formally known as “no pass It Hassett”, hence forth will be known as ”pass it Hassett”, as John Hassett set up John Peterson for both of Manville Pizza’s goals leading his team to victory. The Pizza knocked off Manny’s 2-1 despite a spectacular perfomance by Dan “Campy” Campenella in goal. Chris Manigan scored on a Bobby Orr type rush to tie it half way through the game, and until a late goal in the third period set up by Hassett and buried by Peterson, this game was up for grabs, all thanks to Campy and the die hard Manny players.
MSCCC beats Pitcher’s Pub 2-1 in what turned out to be a terrific battle until the end. Two first period goals by Paul Praderio and John Carey gave the early lead to MSCCC, but The Pub refused to go away. Kevin Tondreau scored in the second period to close the gap to one, and The Pub pressed The Auto Shop until the final seconds. Tom Gaboreault rang the cross bar in the closing minutes, but it was not meant to be. Earlier in the game Matt Connel scored what appeared to be the equalizer, but the goal was denied because the net had moved.
Sunday Nights 8:20 PM Championship Game has Manville Pizza hosting MSCCC.
